3 Bible verses to encourage you when feel worthless

The feeling of worthlessness is a very dangerous feeling. Not only does it cripple us Christians from living the life that God wants for us, it also takes away our ability to praise God, stops us from establishing a good testimony, and lets us live a life in sin.

We need to fight against the feeling of worthlessness.

When worthlessness strikes

Many of us, especially men, feel worthless when we fail in something:

  • We try to do our best in some things, but fail;
  • We try to avoid doing something wrong, but end up doing another wrong;
  • We try to give our best efforts towards achieving a certain goal, only to realize that our efforts will not succeed.

We all need to know that we are not worthless. We are valuable because God values us. We need to see how much He values us:

Christ died for us to be saved and reconciled to God the Father.

That's how valuable we are. God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son so that, if we would believe in Him, we will be saved. Through Him, we can be reconciled with God the Father.

No matter how many failures we've had, no matter how wicked or ungodly we were before we came to Christ, the truth remains the same: He loved us.

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

Because of God's love, we have value. Because of Christ's blood, we are not worthless. Because of God, we are valuable, precious and important.

Find your worth in Christ

To help encourage you when you feel worthless for some reason, here are some Biblical truths and verses that will help you find your worth in Christ.

We are God's children through Christ - John 1:12-13

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

We are not failures in Christ - Ephesians 2:8-10

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

We carry Christ in us as His ambassadors - 2 Corinthians 5:20-21; Colossians 1:27

"Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."

"To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
