3 Bible verses for women in church who feel unappreciated and rejected

God values women as His beloved children, as much as He values men. Pixabay

Being rejected is one of the most painful and damaging things that can ever happen to anybody, men or women alike, even inside the church. It is painful at the time of offense and can continue affecting the victims even long after the rejection has occurred. As such, we must avoid rejecting anybody.

Women, in particular, tend to be rejected even more when a church has a bias in favor of men. Women in such churches tend to take the backseat, are given roles limited to support or helping, and are not given as much appreciation compared to the men in the church.

While some women are indeed natural helpers and supporters thanks to God's design, some women are gifted with leadership, administrative skills, and even spiritual gifts like prophecy. The Lord Himself declares this latter part as a truth everyone needs to hold on to:

"And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days." (Joel 2:28-29)

Still, rejection is rampant in the church today.

Encouragement for our sisters

Sisters, are you unappreciated or rejected in your church today? If you are, here are some Bible verses to encourage you to keep following the Lord for He loves you.

God made male and female equal partners in His plans - Genesis 1:26-28

"Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.""

Women were involved in Jesus' own ministry - Luke 8:1-3

"Now it came to pass, afterward, that [Jesus] went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance."

God-fearing women deserve praise - Proverbs 31:30-31

"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates."
