The Bible tells us that God is both our good Father and Provider. We can always rely on Him and run to Him for help and our daily provisions.
When we find ourselves facing various problems that threaten our finances, however, many of us feel worried and fearful regarding our daily provisions and future needs.
These problems include losing a job, a failing business, botched investments, robberies and scams, and unexpected expenses such as illness and hospitalization.
Such problems cause us to worry about our finances. We end up worrying if we'll still have enough to get us by, or perhaps think about other ways to get more income to sustain us and meet our needs.
What we forget is that God actually wants to meet our needs and provide for us. All we need to do is to put our faith in Him and depend on Him for our provisions.
Help for financially trying times
Here are some Bible verses that will help us put our faith in God and trust that He will meet our needs. We ought to trust in God, for He is trustworthy and good.
Philippians 4:11-13, 19-20
"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me ... And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen."
Matthew 6:25-34
""Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
"So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
Jeremiah 29:11-13
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
