When Katilyn Dobrow contracted bacterial meningitis at the age of 19, she lost four of her limbs and half of her skin. The physical alterations experienced by her body would be enough to drive anyone to depression, but not Dobrow. In fact, she never quit on her dream of becoming a beauty blogger despite everything that has happened to her.

Dobrow always had a passion for make-up. Even when she lost her arms and legs, she was determined to pursue her passion of being a beauty blogger, according to the Daily Mail.

But her road to recovery was not easy. Because of her bacterial meningitis, Dobrow developed blisters all over her body. Around 57 percent of her skin fell off, so doctors used her healthy skin to cover the damaged areas. She spent six months in the intensive care unit, where she was fed through a feeding tube and even suffered a collapsed lung.

As if that was not bad enough, her fingers and toes started turning black. Pretty soon, circulation to her arms and legs were cut off. For anybody, the loss of one's arms and legs is crippling. But Dobrow persevered. After three years and over 20 operations, she re-learned how to apply make-up with prosthetics and she has now become an online star.

Dobrow, who hails from southern California, now has nearly 70,000 followers on her Instagram account (@kaitlyndobrow). She often shares pictures and videos of her daily life, as well as images of Jesus and Scripture quotes, aside from her inspiring make-up tutorials.

Her fans don't just enjoy her beauty and make-up savviness, they also feel changed on the inside as a result of following her tutorials. "You are SO INSPIRING! Thank you so much for doing what you do. You are SO BEAUTIFUL AND SO STRONG AND I FEEL A LOVE AND ADMIRATION FOR YOU ALREADY :) Go girl!" one of her followers wrote.

Given the chance, Dobrow, now 21, said she would not change anything that has happened to her. Sure, the treatment was painful and her family and friends suffered a great deal along with her. But her experience drove her closer to God, and for the beautician, that is worth more than anything else in the world.

She wrote on Facebook, "I wouldn't change this experience for anything in the world. It has brought me closer to God and my family and has made me into the person I am today. I still plan on following my dreams in cosmetics and cooking. My life is just beginning."
