A 19-year-old Mississippi woman was doused with lighter fluid and set on fire on Saturday, and police have no suspects or a motive for the killing.

Jessica Chambers of Courtland was found on a road near her car with severe burns on 98 per cent of her body. She allegedly revealed the names of her attackers to emergency personnel before succumbing to her injuries.

Chambers' mother, Lisa, said that there was nothing unusual about that day.

"She left to go clean out her car and was going to get [herself] something to eat," she told WDBD-TV.

Chambers' father, Ben, described how his daughter was viciously attacked.

"They squirted lighter fluid down her throat and in her nose, and apparently they knocked her out," he said. "She had a big gash on top of her head."

Chambers and her car were set on fire.

"When the fire department got there, she was walking down the road on fire... only part of her body that wasn't burned was the bottom of her feet," Ben, a Panola Country Sheriff's Department employee, told reporters.

Still conscious, Chambers allegedly gave emergency officials information about her attackers.

"She told them, she told them, told him who done it," Ben insisted.

Lisa said she wants justice for her daughter.

"They have ripped everything I have," she lamented. "God's punishment is going to be far more worse than anything that we can do."

Chambers' best friend, Alyssa Cotton, described the type of person Chambers was.

"She was the most beautiful and loving and kind girl I've ever known," Cotton told Fox News.

"She loved to cheer. She loved softball. She loved her family and her friends. She was just a big bundle of joy."

Courtland has a population of only 460 people.

Investigators have not arrested anyone in connection with the murder, and ask anyone with information to contact the Panola County Sheriff's Office at 662-563-6230. Police have not revealed what Chambers' last words were.
