Country star Carrie Underwood shared the first photo of her newborn son on Instagram this week.

The sweet photo shows baby Isaiah laying against a blanket, and holding a miniature Nashville Predators hockey stick.

"The Predators are in the playoffs! Just waiting to get called up! #PutMeInCoach" the singer captioned the photo. Underwood's husband, Mike Fisher plays for the Tennessee team.

The couple wed in July 2010, and welcomed their first child on February 27, 2015. Underwood had previously shared a photo of the baby's hand on her Facebook page.

"Tiny hands and tiny feet... God has blessed us with an amazing gift!" she wrote

Underwood also celebrated her 32nd birthday on March 10, and the recent launch of her clothing line, CALIA by Carrie. The fitness apparel line is available exclusively at DICK's Sporting Goods.

The "American Idol" winner has achieved great success since appearing on the reality competition - winning seven Grammys, 11 Academy of Country Music Awards, and eight American Music Awards.

Underwood has sold over 65 million albums, and has a net worth of over $110 million, according to Forbes. Last year, TIME Magazine honoured Underwood by placing her on their "Most Influential" list.

The singer-songwriter has emphasised the importance of her Christian faith in her life, in spite of criticisms from the public.

"After I released 'Jesus Take the Wheel,' people started saying, 'Oh, it's kind of risky. You're coming out with a religious song,'" she said last year, according to Esquire magazine.

"And I was thinking, 'Really?' I grew up in Oklahoma, I always had a close relationship with God. I never thought it was risky in the least. If anything, I thought it was the safest thing I could do."
