With the release of the Galaxy S6, Samsung will be aiming to put an end to the financial drought that it suffered in 2014 and start the year 2015 with a newly released and decorated smartphone called the Galaxy S6. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the South Korean phone maker to post up a large amount of earnings for its financial quarters because rising Chinese tech sensation Xiaomi and its aggressively priced handsets are usurping the global market share away from the smartphone giant.
Xiaomi's Mi Note Pro is a phablet sized smartphone possessing a 5.7 inch screen and radiating a 1440p resolution. While Samsung's Galaxy S6 renders the exact same resolution, it possesses a 5.1 inch screen size and a much smaller battery pack compared to the Chinese firm's offering. In fact, Samsung's Galaxy S6 features a battery size that is smaller than the Galaxy S5; a 2,550 mAh battery compared to the Mi Note Pro's 3,000 mAh battery.
However, where Samsung's flagship succeeds over the Mi Note Pro is processor performance tests, where the Exynos 7420 SoC easily bests the Snapdragon 810 'system on a chip', even though the former cannot hold its own when graphical benchmarks are concerned. Those who have a penchant of immersing themselves in mobile gaming applications will have no choice but to purchase the Mi Note Pro, which features the Adreno 430.
In addition, the Mi Note Pro is also equipped with 4 GB of RAM, which is a whole gigabyte more compared to the amount of RAM assimilated to the Galaxy S6. Like its predecessors, Xiaomi has chosen not to incorporate a microSD slot in the Mi Note Pro and instead, is selling the device in the 64 GB model. The surprising thing about the Galaxy S6 is that it is void of an expandable storage option but will be available in the 32, 64 and 128 GB models.
While both smartphone's camera sensors are able to record 4K movies, the Galaxy S6's rear shooter provides a higher camera resolution thanks to its 16 megapixel sensor. The Mi Note Pro in comparison only features 13 megapixels and lags behind its adversary when the front camera sensor is taken in to consideration as well. However, Xiaomi's aggressive pricing strategy has allowed the company to accumulate significant amounts of success in such a small time so no doubt the $532 price tag will easily compel smartphone consumers to hold their ground and satisfy their requirements with the Chinese company's flagship product.
While pricing details of the Galaxy S6 have not yet been detailed, it will still not be able to match the competitive level of the Mi Note Pro.
