Xbox Scorpio is now slated for global release after Microsoft announced its plans for other regions. The big reveal was made ahead of the company's Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 conference in Los Angeles.

This comes as great news for Xbox fans who have can't wait to get their hands on Microsoft's most powerful console to date, particularly in China where Microsoft's previous console, the Xbox One, was delayed in its release due to the country banning foreign consoles.

According to Express, the announcement also shows that the development of the high-spec console is going very well. Xbox head Phil Spencer even took to Twitter to assure fans that the Project Scorpio is on its way.

"Schedule looks very good right now, no issues," said Spencer after being asked if there was any change on the release date. As for the exact date, however, fans will still have to wait for the E3 conference to find out.

In addition, Microsoft is also expected to reveal the price of the Xbox Scorpio as well as a selection of exclusive games. The conference is set to take place at the Los Angeles Convention on June 13.

It should be noted that the Xbox Scorpio is still the unofficial name of the next gen console. Whatever name Microsoft finally decides to give is still up for speculation.

Nevertheless, it is still a serious contender to the console market, with Microsoft calling it "the most powerful game console ever." It will be able to play all current Xbox One games except with more power, 40 percent more to be exact, according to GameSpot.

Expect more news in the lead up to the Los Angeles E3. With only half a year to go before its release, it would be good to start saving now to buy yourself the perfect holiday gift.
