"Terminator: Genisys" still has half a year left before it hits theatres, but there is already a flurry of leaks about the film. The upcoming science fiction action film is expected to be showcased in a completely different timeline and will feature two T-800 cybernetic organisms duking it out with each other.

One T-800 is a Terminator that brought up Sarah Connor while the other one is a model sent by Skynet in the year 1984 in order to eliminate her. According to fan site The Terminator Fans, the cyborgs will be sparring at the Griffith Observatory. Furthermore, a teaser trailer shown on Facebook also displays a brief encounter between the T-800s.

As for the plot of the film, it is set at around the year 2029 with John Connor leading the resistance against Skynet, an artificial intelligence that has only one primary mission: to wipe out mankind. While keeping up the war efforts against the intelligent machines, John learns that Skynet will be attacking him by attempting to change both the past and the future in order to change the fate of the war altogether.

John sends his most trusted Lieutenant Kyle Reese back in time to save Sarah Connor, John's biological mother, and ensure that he gets born in order to continue the resistance. However, when Kyle reaches the past, he finds it altered, different from what John told him to expect. For one, Sarah has a surrogate parent in the form of a T-800, played by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. For another, she's not as scared as he had been told. The T-800, Sarah and Kyle Reese will have to press forward and survive against the T-1000 and a younger variant of the T-800 in order to ensure victory in the future.

"Terminator: Genisys" will arrive in U.S. theatres on July 1.
