PS3 and PS4 to get Spotify streaming soon

Both of Sony's gaming consoles will be receiving the Spotify music streaming functionality, thanks to a partnership occurring between Sony and Spotify. The digital music service will be channeled to the PlayStation Network during spring and it will be available in 41 markets around the world. Both parties have named the service as PlayStation Music

The partnership that has formed between the two parties will allow the digital music streaming service to be branched out to different platforms and in the process, it will be able to connect 64 million users. But while Sony's Xperia lineup of smartphones and tablets will be receiving the digital music streaming service, PS Vita will be left out of the gang as Sony will not be catering to its handheld console owners.

Because of the deep integration process that will be undertaken with the music streaming service and PlayStation Network, users will be able to experience several benefits and perks in the future. As an example, PSN users will effortlessly be able to link their accounts with Spotify. However, in order to take complete advantage of the music streaming service, users might have to sign up for Spotify Premium, which will obviously come with a price tag.

However, an added advantage here is that the payment procedure will not be tedious at all since PSN users will be able to use their PSN wallets to pay for the service. As for Sony's current music streaming service, which is named Music Unlimited, it will be forced to shut down following the latest coalition. The company's previous service will be shutting down on March 29 in 19 countries.

Even though statistics can be quite misleading, Spotify currently has 30 million songs that have been sorted to 1.5 billion playlists. Furthermore, users will be able to create their own playlists at will.
