NVIDIA GTX Titan X release date: specs include 12 GB of GDDR5

 NVIDIA blogs

NVIDIA started off the Game Developers Conference 2015 with a bang - by unveiling its graphic card solution belonging to the Titan brand of GPUs. The graphics processor manufacturing company unveiled its upcoming graphics power house, which will be called the GeForce GTX Titan X. The gaming solution will sport a whopping frame buffer amount of 12 GB GDDR5 memory, which is the ideal configuration that a PC gamer needs to game on higher resolutions.

Unfortunately, the company did exceptionally well to keep the additional details hidden from the public, particularly its pricing. The Titan series of graphic chips are not stamped with a cost effective price tag and NVIDIA will be maintaining this strategy to target this product to the higher tier PC gaming market, which means that the product will be carrying a price tag that will hover between the ranges of $999-$1,349. The Titan X has been processed on the Maxwell architecture, allowing the GPU to deliver more processing power for better performance in demanding titles and exhibit phenomenal energy efficiency.

It is possible that the Titan X will be consuming the same amount of power as its predecessor; the Titan Black, which possessed a thermal design power (TDP) of 225-300 watts. Currently, the only information known about the graphics card is that it will feature 3,072 CUDA Cores, comes with 12 GB GDDR5 and will most likely be running the aforementioned amount of video memory on a 384 memory bus width. However, according to the images posted on WCCFtech, the Titan X will allow for dual, tri and quad SLI configurations, thanks to the two gold plated connectivity fingers placed on top of the product.

While the official release date of the GTX Titan X has not be revealed, it is expected that the GPU will be available for sale during the month of June.
