With the release of Microsoft's Surface 3 tablet (which carries a starting price of $499), Microsoft will be ending the year 2015 with the release of its high-end slate, Surface Pro 4. There have been several rumors surrounding the upcoming product, with majority of them revolving around Surface Pro 4's release date. Now, according to the information posted on Tweak Town (thanks to a Chinese website named 36kr), new rumors have sprouted up stating that Microsoft's flagship tablet will be sporting Intel's Broadwell processor (not the Core M lineup) along with the Windows 10 OS platform.
If Surface Pro 4 ends up running the 'unified interface' operating system 'out of the box', then that means the tablet will be released after Microsoft has officially announced Windows 10, which is expected to take place during Q3, 2015. The tablet will feature a fanless design, allowing it to sport a very thin form factor. Similar to Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4 will be available to purchase in several different screen sizes. The largest screen size will measure in at 12 inches and will render a resolution of 2160 by 1440 pixels.
Instead of featuring a fan that will get rid of all the heat being generated by the internal circuitry, Surface Pro 4 is expected to feature tiny holes around specific areas of its chassis to perform the function of dissipating heat away from it. As for the price tag, Microsoft plans on attracting a larger audience, and in order to do that, the company is going to price it lower than what Surface Pro 3 was retailing for. As impressive as they were, the Surface Pro 3 lineup could not garner significant amounts of success because the base model of the product carried a price tag of $799, which was far too high for majority of consumers to entertain.
While Surface Pro 4 is not expected to feature a killer price/performance ratio, it will be priced in a manner that will make it far easier to afford than its predecessor.
