Michael Schumacher condition update: health showing sings of improvement

Seven time Formula One Champion Michael Schumacher, who suffered a horrible accident when he went on a skiing trip in the French Alps, has finally started to show some improvement, albeit a small one. According to the Formula One Champion's manager, it is unclear how long it will take for him to fully recover but doctors have stated that after a long period of being cut off from communication, Schumacher is making progress through the use of his eyes.

While the former champion is currently immobilized, he is able to maintain communication through the opening and closing of his eyes. There was even an instance when Schumacher became emotional after he was able to make conversation with his wife and children. However, according to BreatheCast, there have also been some occasions where Schumacher has failed to recognize them.

If Schumacher is able to fully recover, he will reportedly still be required to maintain his position in a wheelchair and start taking proper physical therapy in order to start gaining mobility by himself. Currently, Schumacher still suffers from memory problems, which is said to slowly return as soon as he starts gaining mobility in the near future.

On Oct. 29, 2013, the 46-year old former Formula One Champion went on a skiing trip on the Combe de Saulire. While skiing, Schumacher fell and hit his head on a rock, sustaining severe head injury, irrespective of the fact that he was wearing protective head gear at the time. His physicians reportedly said that Schumacher would have most likely be dead had he not been wearing his protective gear and, after further examinations, he was put into a medically induced coma due to suffering a traumatic brain injury.

In November 2014, the official Michael Schumacher website was relaunched to celebrate the individual's 20th anniversary when the driver achieved his first world championship. The website also provides visitors a place to send their prayers and messages to his wife and kids.
