'Mass Effect 4': Release date details and everything gamers need to know

Is a fourth installment really in the making? Wikipedia

Apart from the fact that fans were teased with "Mass Effect 4" during the E3 2014, nothing else is known about the successor to the science fiction action role-playing third person shooter video game. The insufficient content and news leaks have spawned plenty of rumors, with some stating that the game will be released in 2020. There is no authentic source behind the news, however.

According to Load the Game, the news regarding the game's 2020 release year was associated with Amazon France's website. Load the Game was quick to point out that Amazon is an e-commerce website, not a platform for information regarding games' release dates, thus, the rumor could easily have been conjured up by any individual.

The website also stated that the game's developer BioWare, which was also responsible for the development of the previous three titles, has not yet stated a release date for the game. The game studio, however, just might be looking at 2016. It has been speculated that the developer previously had its plate full with the development of another action role-playing video game released last year, "Dragon Age: Inquisition." But since both gaming titles have two separate creative teams working on the projects, there would have to be another reason why the development of "Mass Effect 4" is taking so long.

Nonetheless, after the studio was able to receive critical acclaim for one of the hottest games for all platforms, it is now expected that the developing team will be able to focus on "Mass Effect 4."

According to EuroGamer, "Mass Effect 4's" story will be focused on a new protagonist which will not be sharing any traits with Commander Shepard or his storyline. Additional details will probably be available when more trailers are shown at this year's E3, but the game's release is not likely to happen anytime soon.
