Chinese firm Manta has announced its 7x smartphone which, apart from a physical button similar to that on Apple's mobile products, features no physical buttons. Since the Manta 7x runs on a customized version of Google's KitKat 4.4 update dubbed as MO7 OS, digital buttons are positioned in place of physical buttons, allowing users to gain functionality congruent to tangible hardware buttons. In addition, the Manta 7x's home button also supports gesture control functionality.

In terms of performance, the Manta 7x is equipped with previous generation hardware specifications comprised of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 chipset, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The screen size of the smartphone measures in at 5.5 inches with a 1080p display.

The Manta 7x has also been given an IP 55 rating, making the device water and dust resistant up to a certain level. One of the interesting features of the Manta 7x is its dual 13-megapixel camera sensors. Both shooters are placed at either ends of the phone's chassis and both of these sensors boast an OIS chip (optical image stabilization), with the rear camera incorporated with an extra layer of protection by means of a sapphire covering.

To support all its functions, the Manta 7x has been designed with an extra-large battery pack. Thanks to its 4200 mAh battery, the smartphone can provide more talk time compared to other flagship smartphones.

In terms of wireless connectivity, the smartphone has an 802.11 ac wireless adapter, coupled with an LTE modem. While Manta 7x can be ordered internationally, it is tagged with a price of 4,080 Yuan, which translates to approximately $650. According to Phone Arena, the device is now up for pre-order and delivery takes around two weeks.
