There are still a few months remaining for Apple to unveil the successors of its highly popular iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus duo. While the name of the company's upcoming iPhones have not been confirmed by the Cupertino tech giant, rumors are leaning towards either an iPhone 7 or iPhone 6s, followed by a lesser performing handset called iPhone 6c. The latest mobile devices are most likely going to feature Samsung's chips, which have been fabricated on the company's 14 nm FinFET architecture.

The chipsets will be called A9. According to The Wall Street Journal, the SoCs are not going to be the only components that are going to be manufactured by Samsung. The website states that the South Korean smartphone giant has also been tapped by Apple to mass produce the display screens. Samsung's current competitor in the chip manufacturing industry is none other than TSMC, which has admitted that the tech firm got the better of it through the superior manufacturing process.

However, according to Vine Report, TSMC has stated that it is going to bounce back to challenge Samsung's chip manufacturing supremacy through its 10 nm and 7 nm chips. Both TSMC and Samsung have invested heavily in order to meet the demand quota of Apple, Qualcomm and NVIDIA. While TSMC has invested a record $12 billion in the construction of processing plants and equipment, Samsung is slowly increasing its capital expenditure column with more than $3.7 billion spent in the processor business for the 2014 period. The aforementioned figure is expected to climb up to $4.9 billion during the end of 2015.

In addition, it has also invested $15 billion in the construction of a brand new chip plant in order to gain a considerable lead against the competition. As for Apple, it is expected that the tech giant will unveil its latest flagship group of smartphones during the month of September.
