During the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, Chinese tech sensation Huawei was able to unveil its flagship tablet, the MediaPad X2 while Apple had announced its iPad Air 2 way back in 2014. Even though it has been a while since the Cupertino tech giant showcased its large screen iOS tablet, the A8X chipset present inside the wafer-thick tablet is able to overcome the processing capabilities of the NVIDIA's Tegra K1 with a 64 bit architecture supported Denver CPU, meaning that the chipset's tri-core processor will easily be able to best the Hisilicon Kirin 930's octa-core package which features one quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and another quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU.

While the MediaPad X2 possesses more RAM compared to Apple's flagship offering, the optimized iOS 8 platform will make sure that it outperforms the 3 GB of RAM present inside the Android Lollipop 5.0 MediaPad X2. Undoubtedly, Huawei's flagship slate's one unique feature is that it is able carry two SIMs simultaneously and while the iPad Air 2 is available in the LTE variant, it will cost the consumer an arm and a leg. In addition to the 32 GB of internal memory, the MediaPad X2 also provides additional flexibility by allowing users to expand their storage up to a limit of 128 GB. Apple's products, in terms of storage expansion have remained similar to its predecessors - the iPad Air 2 is void of an expansion slot.

In terms of wireless performance, the iPad Air 2 will outperform the MediaPad X2 since it possesses the 802.11 ac adapter compared to the 802.11 n wireless chip present in Huawei's product. While thin in size, the iPad Air 2 also possesses a larger screen size (9.7 inches) compared to its rival (7 inches) and exudes a more dense resolution (2048 by 1536 compared to the 1920 by 1200 present on the MediaPad X2). If consumers are looking for a more cost-effective solution, then they should not looking any further than the MediaPad X2, which is retailing for $419 for the 32 GB/3 GB of RAM model in Europe.

iPad Air 2's most expensive model is the 128 GB internal memory with LTE connectivity, which is currently retailing for $829, translating in to the product being just a fraction short of being twice as expensive as the MediaPad X2.
