Claire Danes will return as Carrie Mathison in just a couple of weeks when "Homeland" season 5 premieres. The first episode called "Separation Anxiety" deals with her inevitable venture back to the profession that she wants to break away from.

The season synopsis released by Showtime reads:

The game has changed for Carrie Mathison. Out of the CIA and living in Berlin, Carrie is trying to start a new life but realizes now she's the one with a target on her back. As the danger intensifies, and without Saul and Quinn to rely on, one thing becomes clear: she's never been at greater risk or with more to lose."

"Homeland" season 5 will reportedly begin with a two-year time jump, showing Carrie's new life as a mom raising a young child on her own in Berlin after leaving the CIA. But she seems to be forever attached to her previous work after breached data affects her new job at a private firm.

The trailers for the upcoming "Homeland" season 5 have been recently released, and they show Carrie's struggles to break away from the CIA, but her return becomes inevitable. She is also seen having a tender moment with her daughter with her late partner Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis).

Also in this season, Carrie's former colleague turned almost-lover Quinn (Rupert Friend) seems to go back to his old assassin ways based on one of the scenes in the season trailer. Quinn tells Saul (Mandy Patinkin) that he is willing to kill anyone whose name is placed in a box.

"Homeland" season 5 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 4, on Showtime.
