Blizzard, the developing and publishing company of the action role playing game "Diablo 3" has commenced Season 2 in an attempt to keep players from abandoning the title and snaring those who left it in the first place. With the season underway, details of what Blizzard has in store for gamers have been summarized below, thanks to details stated by user Lyrria on the Battle.net website.

"You'll see the return of Conquests that encourage long-term goals, such as it's a Marathon and Sprinter. Reaching a specific Greater Rift level or rushing through Campaign mode from Act I to Act V are activities that encourage a variety of gameplay, some of which is outside the norm. In addition, while they offer a clear goal, they also encourage you to push harder for better results."

According to the information posted on us.battle.net, each season will bring about new items for players to experiment with. In Season 2, several new Legendary items have been added, along with new conquests to be completed. These conquests will encourage long term goals and are titled as follows.

  • It's a Marathon
  • Sprinter

In addition to the aforementioned conquests, more challenges that have opened up to players have been named: Avaritia, Worlds Apart, and Language. These conquests will be far taxing compared to what players had experienced in Season 1, but to prevent repititious gameplay, Blizzard wants to change tempo of one of its most popular gaming titles. Rewards for playing the season will be given to players. Participation in the season will result in the following rewards according to the amount of points accumulated.

  • 100 Points: Shape
  • 200 Points: Pattern
  • 300 Points: Accent
  • 400 Points: Sigil

"Diablo 3" was released in 2012, and since its release, the game has been able to sell 15 million copies across all platforms. It also broke the record for being the fastest-selling PC game, as it sold approximately 3.5 million units in the first 24 hours of its release.
