Diablo 3, the action adventure role playing game has had its latest patch unveiled, which carries the version number 2.2. The latest update will be adding a total of 70 new Legendary armor sets along with the redesigning of existing ones. The new armor sets that will be added once the patch is officially released are as follows:

  • Unhallowed Essence (Demon Hunter character class)
  • Wrath of the Wastes (Barbarian character class)
  • Delsere's Magnum Opus (Wizard character classes)

The armor sets that are going to be redesigned will be:

  • Zunimassa's Haunt
  • Raiment of a Thousand Storms
  • Roland's Legacy
  • Tal Rasha's Elements
  • Inna's Mantra
  • Natalya's Vengeance
  • Immortal King's Call

As far as the power items are concerned, the patch notes have detailed that there will be over 15 Legendary powers added to items, which will range from gems, armor, rings, and other items. In addition, upgrades will be incorporated to existing items.

Patch 2.2 will also be including new adventure modes, such as new rift layouts. These layouts will be increasing in terms of environment size, allowing gamers to explore more in order to scavenge for additional Legendary items and powers or look for combat related scenarios. Timed experience boost and a brand new currency called Platinum will also be added to the game. The Platinum currency will possess a higher value, allowing players to make expensive purchases in order to make their controlled avatar more effective in battles.

According to the information posted on battle.net, a majority of the Diablo III universe has expressed a great amount of interest in microtransactions being incorporated in to the game. While the patch will not be adding this feature, the notes have stated that the idea is currently in brainstorming mode but there will be no immediate plans to assimilate the feature.

Diablo III was released on May 15, 2012.
