'Borderlands: The Handsome Collection' announced for PS4 and Xbox One

"Borderlands," the action role playing first person shooter title developed by Gearbox Software, will finally be rolled out for next generation consoles. The titles to be included are "Borderlands 2" as well as "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel." In addition, all downloadable content related to the aforementioned titles will be bundled in a nice package that has been dubbed "Borderlands: The Handsome Collection" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, next generation console owners will have to muster sufficient amounts of patience as the entire bundle will not be released until March 24.

One of the biggest perks of owning "Borderlands: The Handsome Collection" is that gamers will be able to transfer their progress and old saves from either their PS3, Xbox 360 or PS Vita to their new games, provided those games belong to the same titles present in the bundle.

Another advantage of getting the new set is that these titles will bring about overall improved visuals to the table when pitted against their previous generation counterparts. Console gamers will reportedly be able to experience the "Borderlands" series in HD quality.

A Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition of "Borderlands: The Handsome Collection" has also been announced. However, it carries a steep price tag of $399 (which translates to £270). According to the PlayStation blog:

"Limited to only 5,000 units worldwide, the Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition includes a remote controlled Claptrap steward bot that you'll control with a companion app from your iOS or Android device. You'll be able to play voice samples of some of Claptrap's most iconic lines and look through a camera to see where Claptrap is headed, all while you control his every move (while balancing on one wheel)! The Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition also includes 12 really cool exclusive Vault Hunter lithographs, and a collectible steel case."

According to IGN, it is available for pre-order on Amazon

While the bundle will be released on March 24 in North America for $59.99, it will be available internationally on March 27.
