'Batman v Superman' movie news: Jesse Eisenberg shaved his head for filming?

 Warner Bros.

Jesse Eisenberg has been the center of attention from the time it was announced that he would be portraying Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" — in particular, if he would shave his head in order to provide the likeness to one of the most intelligent beings in the DC universe.

During filming, Eisenberg's head was reportedly always covered, prompting rumors that he did sport a hairless do, but confirmation has remained elusive. Now, however, there just might be a hint that he had his head shaved for the superhero flick.

In a photo on Instagram posted by Jon Chu, the director of "Now You See Me 2," Eisenberg is seen sporting very short hair.  According to Cinema Blend, it could be because he has just started growing his hair back.  The site, however, is quick to point out that it could be "circumstantial evidence." The short hair could also mean that Chu intended to keep Eisenberg's hair close-cropped while playing the character Daniel Atlas, the magician in "Now You See Me 2."  So far, no comment has been given by either the actor or the director.

Over the last 12 months, images of Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Ben Affleck (Batman) have appeared in the form of promotional posters. While there has not been one with Eisenberg sporting the Lex Luthor look, fans will be able to confirm this in a couple of weeks when the first and official trailer of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is released worldwide.

In addition, it is also being reported that Eisenberg would be appearing as Lex Luthor in "Suicide Squad," a film which features several of DC Universe's antagonists.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be released on March 25, 2016, while "Suicide Squad" is expected to hit theaters sometime in the same year.
