AMD's M300 mobile GPUs housed in Lenovo laptops

Apart from its R9 300 series of graphic cards, AMD is also attempting to derail the progress of NVIDIA in the mobile GPU market by incorporating its M300 series of GPUs into notebooks. Lenovo is one laptop vendor that has chosen to assimilate its laptops with AMD's mobile GPUs, which possess the model name as follows:

  • R9 M375
  • R5 M330

Both mobile GPUs are present inside the Lenovo's Y-40 laptop, which feature's Intel's 4<sup>th generation Core i7 processor along with R9 M375, which possesses 2 GB of GDDR5 memory. In addition, Lenovo, which is regarded as the largest PC maker in the world, has also placed the R5 M330 in its G50-80 notebook, which comprises up of Intel's 5<sup>thgeneration Core processor. While these are the only mobile graphic processors rolled out by the company, the remainder of the models have been given below and currently, the company has not given an exact release date. However, it is possible that AMD will be releasing them when the tech firm officially launches its R9 300 series of desktop graphic cards.

The chips will be taking the fight to NVIDIA's Maxwell architecture of desktop and laptop products, which comprises of the GTX 980, GTX 970, their notebook variants and soon to be released, the GTX Titan X, which features 12 GB of GDDR5 video memory. According to WCCFtech, some specifications of the Radeon R5 and Radeon R7 series chips will feature 1-2 GB of DDR3 video memory along with 64 memory bus width while the top chips will have 4-8 GB of GDDR5 memory that will be running on a 128 or 256 memory bus width.
