Microsoft's next generation console owners are enjoying a boatload of free things. After receiving news that "World of Tanks" will be available for the console (release date is yet to be announced), Xbox One owners will now be receiving a whole free month of the Microsoft's Xbox Live Gold membership, which has been specifically catered to "Halo: Master Chief Collection" players.

Thanks to "Halo: Master Chief Collection" players' suffering from severe matchmaking issues that sprouted up from Microsoft's server, the tech giant believes that the only way to appease them would be to give out a free membership period. While several patches were rolled out in order to address these issues, the problem remained persistent, to which the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer, stated as "disappointing."

The executive sent responses from his official Twitter account to two different Twitter users, saying:

"@Euthanasia1978 Sorry about the issues. I know our fans expect more from us. Team is making progress but I know it's still disappointing."

"@MarcB567 @PNF4LYFE @BuckGamer @K_Alex1 We have to do better with the matchmaking, apologies for that. Team is working around the clock."

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the developing studio, 343 Industries was currently busy in rolling out an update which would "improve stability, matchmaking, the party and invite system, and more." According to the information posted on GameSpot, the studio gives explanation as to why this issue had not been resolved earlier.

"This is due to a Halo 3-specific issue regarding non-default map variants that we're working to fix. Once resolved, custom map variants (tournament maps, maps with specific on-map weapons, Forge maps, etc.) will be included into permanent and featured playlists."

In addition to receiving a whole month free of the membership, Xbox One owners will also be receiving a remastered version of Halo 3: ODST and Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer map Relic as a way of compensating for not patching the problem quickly enough.
