After Anthony Mackie played Sam Wilson, who is also known as Falcon in the Marvel universe, in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," it was confirmed that the actor would be reprising his role as a secondary protagonist in Marvel's "Captain America: Civil War." However, what was not confirmed was whether or not Mackie would be making an appearance in Joss Whedon's summer superhero film, "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

When he was interviewed by I Am Rogue, the actor stated that he wanted to get a long term acting deal in the ever-expanding Marvel cinematic universe. So far, Mackie has stated that he has currently not filmed in any scene for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" but he is still very interested to be making an appearance.

When Mackie was questioned on whether or not he is going to appear in Whedon's sequel, the actor replied, "I hope. At this point, I have not. I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope. They're doing reshoots and that's why I'm letting them know I'm available."

According to the additional storylines in the Marvel comic books, Falcon adopts a falcon who becomes his sidekick called Redwing. While none of the Avengers films released so far have given evidence regarding this, it has not gone unnoticed by the actor.

"Captain America: Civil War" is expected to hit theatres in May 6, 2016, with Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers.

Before the film will be released, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be arriving in cinemas on May 1. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson will be returning as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Hulk and Black Widow, respectively, as they attempt to quell the threat that is Ultron.
