After releasing "The Last of Us," the critically acclaimed title made exclusively for PS3 and PS4, developer Naughty Dog will be attempting to once again win the hearts of PlayStation console owners worldwide with the release of "Uncharted 4: At Thief's End." The upcoming title will be the concluding chapter of one of the most popular gaming series on PlayStation 4.

According to Naughty Dog, it will be bringing a cinematic experience to PS4 gamers, which is similar to viewing an action packed film. "Uncharted 4" is expected to bring graphics to the 900p resolution while maintaining a steady frame rate of 30 FPS. The developer's lead artist Frank Tzeng stated in an interview conducted by CG Master Academy that the upcoming title is "really close" to a movie in terms of visual quality.

"Game quality is really close to film right now, look at the stuff we do in Naughty Dog," he said, as quoted by Gamepur. "This character, I'm telling you guys, this character can easily be a digital double in a film. Based on the quality, the detail, the blend shape, the color, everything that we put on the character this is basically a film character to me. So to me, video games are getting really close to film quality, and this is exactly what I wanted to do."

Thanks to the improved processing and graphics horsepower of Sony's next generation console, developers can stretch their abilities further when it comes to upping the overall visuals in gaming titles.

"As we have more powerful consoles coming out, so right now we have PS4, it's definitely more powerful than PS3 and that enables to put more polygons, you know, using more high-res maps and get more resolutions in a game, making more expressions making more blend shapes and wrinkle maps," Tzeng said. "All of this is getting us one step closer to the film quality that we wanted for the game industry and I think in a few years we can definitely get there."

Naughty Dog has not yet given a release date for "Uncharted 4: At Thief's End" but it is expected to be released this year.
