The upcoming post-apocalyptic title currently being developed by Ubisoft will be available to play on Microsoft Windows, and the next generation consoles PS4, and the Xbox One. However, it appears that the visuals present on the PS4 will exceed that of Microsoft's latest gaming console. Thanks to twitter user 'Tidux,' rumors are spreading in all directions that the resolution of the game will be higher on the PS4 compared to the Xbox One.
After the first tweet, Tidux went on to say that the game will be present on the 1080p resolution for the PlayStation 4 while Xbox One gamers will only be able to view at 900p. Martin Hultberg, head of communications at Massive Entertainment, stated on a YouTube video channel titled 'One World Games' that:
"Downgrading is a weird term to use. Obviously, we want to make a game that looks the best it can on its respective format, so Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. So I think the term downgrade is a bit confusing and weird because we're trying to get the most out of every machine we use. So Xbox gets its attention, PlayStation gets its attention, and PC of course will be able to cram it up a bit more depending on the hardware you have."
When the executive was asked whether or not the 1080p resolution along with a steady frame rate of 60 FPS was possible on all platforms, he responded:
"We address every console, every platform as its own version. So we try to stay away from the thing where you go for the least common denominator and everybody suffers for it. We want to make a good experience on all respective formats."
"The Division" is expected to be released in 2015, along with other titles, that are being developed and published by Ubisoft, which are "Assassin's Creed: Victory" and "Rainbow Six Siege."
