Jill Duggar pregancy update: The Duggars excited about Baby Dilly's as due date draws near

Jill Dillard is 36 weeks pregnant! (Duggar Family Blog)

The whole Duggar family just cannot wait to meet Derick and Jill Dillard's first-born son, nicknamed Baby Dilly.

The family shared another photo of Jill's pregnancy update on the Duggar Family Blog, and wrote that they will be meeting the newest addition to their family in "just a few more weeks."

"Jill Dillard passed the 36-week mark. While 37 weeks is technically considered full-term, it is usually best for the baby's development if he or she remains in the womb for an additional two weeks," the family wrote.

They added that during this point in the pregnancy, Baby Dilly is gaining weight at a rate of approximately one ounce per day and measures about the length of a head of romaine lettuce.

The hype surrounding Jill's pregnancy is at an all-time high as her due date draws near. When her husband Derick posted a photo of himself carrying a baby on his Instagram account (@derickdillard), people excitedly thought that it was already Baby Dilly!

"Is that your BABY???" someone commented on his photo.

Another one said, "For a moment I thought that might have been their baby. Ha! But than I started to think about how Jill has (about) 4 more weeks left and I was naaahhhhh..."

Derick explained who the mystery baby is in the photo's caption: "So sweet finally getting to meet baby Jesiah yesterday!" He added the hashtag #babypractice.

An Instagram user commented, "Looks like you know what (you're) doing. So happy for you two. Can't wait. Blessings."

But Derick earlier admitted to PEOPLE that he has no experience with babies, and that he has never even changed a diaper. But he and his younger brother Daniel are eager to experience all those things with Baby Dilly.

"I think my brother will be a great uncle," Derick says. "He has as much baby experience as I do, but he has lined things up already, planning to take our son camping someday. We'll both get to change our first diaper," he said.
