During the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, Saygus announced its V2 smartphone, which has been primarily made for the media junkie since the device can house up to 320 GB of mobile storage (through its 64 GB internal memory and another 256 GB courtesy of two microSD card slots, which can accommodate up to 128 GB of memory each). The suggested retail price, according to the company's website, is $900, but it has an online discounted price of $599. Those who pre-register before Feb. 2 can have the device for $549 along with an extra battery and special glass screen protector.
In terms of hardware specifications, the Saygus V2 is on par with the OnePlus One, as both devices feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 chipset that possesses a quad-core Krait processor running at a clock frequency of 2.5 GHz. Both devices are also equipped with the same amount of RAM, radiate the same resolution (1920 by 1080 pixels) and feature the same battery pack (3100 mAh). However, there are more than a few differences separating the two smartphones.
For starters, the OnePlus One possesses a 5.5-inch screen size compared to the Saygus V2's 5-inch frame. The OnePlus One also runs a custom ROM based on Google's KitKat 4.4 update. While the Saygus V2 also runs the same update, the ROM present in the device is an official stock ROM, with plans of being upgraded to Google's Lollipop 5.0 update. In addition, the Saygus V2 also possesses the following features that are either less in capability or are completely void on the OnePlus One:
- A 21-megapixel rear camera, compared to OnePlus One's 13-megapixel rear shooter
- A 13-megapixel front camera, compared to OnePlus One's 5-megapixel front shooter
- Harman/Kardon speakers
- Support for Qi wireless charging
Perhaps the biggest advantage of owning the Saygus V2 is the ability to carry around ridiculous amounts of storage to accommodate quite a number of high definition content to be played on the smartphone. While the OnePlus One might not feature any microSD slot, the "Nexus Killer" title was handed to the phone because it carries a retail price of just $349 for the 64 GB variant ($299 for the 16 GB version).
Consumers looking for a more cost effective solution to satisfy their requirements will not be looking any further than the OnePlus One, while media enthusiasts will most certainly have the Sagyus V2 locked in their crosshairs.
