Revival started from prayer

"Heal this land---National Repent Prayer Convocation" was held in Lin-Co National College of Physical Education and Sports Stadium on Feb 28. This prayer convocation aims at repentence of sins and bring revival to the nation. It also helps the unity between churches. Representative of Bread of Life Christian Church in Taipei, Rev. Zhou Shenchu said, "In order to dissolve the harm that brought by 2-28 event, the Shepherd prayer team gathered in front of the 2-28 memorial tablet in the 2-28 Peace Memorial Park. They prayed for the victim's family and the healing hand of God to heal their land and their people.

2-28 is to commemorate a protest -- or rather a series of protests -- that began on February 28, 1947 and lasted several weeks, resulting in the declaration of martial law and harsh repression. A number of people were killed. Now in the city of Chiayi there is the 2-28 Memorial Peace Park which commemorates these tragic events.

This National Prayer Movement started from January this year, first it was individuals repetance, then it is for families, churches, cities...so it is a paryer reley. It is a very rare that the prayer net start from individuals and then spread to the whole nation.

The 12 hours prayer and fasting convocation started from 10:00a.m to 10:00p.m. on Feb 28. There were worship, message proclaimation, unity, repentence and preaching. It definitely changed the spiritual atmosphere in Taiwan.

Rev. Zhou shared, "We started this unity prayer team because in these years, the more the shepherds in Taiwan pray, the more we understand the plan of God towards Taiwan, and His sorrow towards this land. Especailly we went through many cities and set up prayer network in this two years' time, God changed our hearts in many happenings, to let us know His will."

He continued, "We understand the sorrow that God has towards idol woship, avaricious, immoral and arrogance, especially sin of killing the innocent. God reminded us in prayer, we must humble and pray for the mercy of God, turn away from evil and seek for the will of God.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14)
