After the GTX 900 series, NVIDIA will reportedly launch its flagship graphics chip in March, rumored to be called the GTX Titan II. The GTX Titan II GPU is expected to be 34 percent faster compared to NVIDIA's current fastest single GPU solution, the GTX 980. The unveiling of the upcoming flagship graphics card is most likely going to take place during NVIDIA's GPU Technology Conference, where the company had previously announced its dual GPU solution, the GTX Titan Z, in 2014.
NVIDIA will be looking to unveil the GTX Titan II under the timeline conditions. Rumor has it that the flagship GPU solution is code-named the GM 200 GPU and is also being called "Big Maxwell," owing to the fact that the GTX Titan II will be made on NVIDIA's Maxwell architecture.
It is expected that the GTX Titan II will be equipped with 3072 stream processors (more commonly known as CUDA Cores), 192 texture units, 96 raster operating pipelines and a 384 bit memory bus. No leaks regarding the amount of video memory has been unearthed, but since next generation gaming titles already exhibit detailed textures that consume a lot of video memory, NVIDIA will be looking to form a nice gaming solution for the higher tier market.
Alongside the "Big Maxwell" GPU, NVIDIA will also reportedly unveil its GPU solutions belonging to the Quadro lineup. The Quadro M6000 will be targeted toward workstations and professionals rather than gamers, although the internal specifications of the Quadro M6000 have not yet been unveiled.
Currently, the GTX Titan Z remains as the fastest graphics card released by NVIDIA, featuring 12 GB of video memory along with a whopping $2,999 price tag and was processed on the company's Kepler architecture.
NVIDIA's GTC 2015 conference is going to be held from March 17 to 20.
