Natalie Grant funny reaction to being nominated as Female Artist of the Year by the K-LOVE Fan Awards

How does Natalie Grant feel about being nominated as Female Artist of the Year by the K-LOVE Fan Awards?

How does Christian artist Natalie Grant feel about being nominated for the Female Artist of the Year category at the K-LOVE Fan Awards?

"I'm so grateful to be nominated alongside some of my beautiful friends," the singer wrote on her Facebook page. "Now this isn't some crazy competition, where we are cat fighting our way to some statue. It's truly just a fun way to give a pat on the back to some of your favourite artists."

What sets this competition apart from other competitions, according to Grant, is that it seeks to honour God and that is why there is no need for nominees to try and outdo one another.

"Because the truth is, when it comes to music that spreads the gospel, when one wins, we ALL win," she stressed.

What's even more special about the K-LOVE Fan Awards is that for every 500,000 votes put in (up to two million), a home will be built to care for eight orphaned and abandoned children, said Grant.

"So it's more than just a vote!" she said.

Other nominees for the Female Artist of the Year category are Francesca Battistelli, Jamie Grace, Kari Jobe, Mandisa, and Plumb. For the Male Artist of the Year category, nominees are Chris Tomlin, Colton Dixon, Crowder, Jeremy Camp, Matthew West, and Steven Curtis Chapman.

According to K-LOVE, the mission of the awards ceremony is to "create a fan experience that celebrates and promotes artists, athletes, authors and entertainers, who, with excellence, engage and impact popular culture for Jesus Christ."

It is the first and only Christian music awards show that is determined solely by the fans, and it also has other special categories such as Sports Impact, Book of the Year and Movie Impact.

The awards will be held on May 31 at Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
