NASCAR 15 and 16 release date update, latest news

NASCAR racing fans will be delighted to hear that their hopes have been answered because the successor to 'NASCAR 14' will be arriving to mobile gaming platforms, Microsoft Windows and the next generation consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One. DMi Games had recently acquired the official license for the popular car game series and as a result, it has set up its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

After acquiring the license, developers started working on different versions of the game to port it to different platforms. The news stating the license acquisition was confirmed on Jan. 17, 2015 through DMi's official website.

Ed Martin, who is the top executive of DMi Games, stated: "As of January 1, 2015, DMi became NASCAR's license for video games. It is a deal that has been in the works for several months." The executive also stated that porting the title to other platforms was made possible thanks to the acquisition. However, 'NASCAR 15' is not going to be an official gaming title. Instead, it is going to be a season update of the previous year's edition and is expected to arrive for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms.

According to Cross Map, Martin stated:

"We are already hard at work on several new games including an all-new NASCAR racing sim created by DMi for PS4, Xbox One, and PC that we expect to release in 2016."

For fans that were waiting for the upcoming racing game, they will have to muster up sufficient patience because the title is not going to be released anytime this year. However, gamers will still be able to enjoy the action packed races that will be present in 'NASCAR 15.'

While both gaming titles' release dates have not been revealed, 'NASCAR 15' is expected to be released later this year.
