Galaxy S6 vs Moto X vs. HTC One M9 specs comparison

HTC's One M9 and Samsung's Galaxy S6 are mobile powerhouses that were unveiled during the MWC 2015. Sadly, the Moto X (second generation) has been left out of the club due to the smartphone's inability to keep up the pace against two of the most powerful handsets on the planet. In terms of pure processing power, the Galaxy S6's Exynos 7420 octa-core chipset and 3 GB RAM combo bulldozes through the Snapdragon 810 and Snapdragon 801 present on the One M9 and Moto X respectively.

However, the Adreno 430 GPU present on the One M9 is far superior when it comes to gaming performance, which will make the One M9 a device to covet for those who prefer Android's intensive gaming applications. In addition, the One M9 is the only handset out of the three that possesses a microSD slot and a bigger battery. Samsung decided to leave out an expandable storage slot as well as reduce the overall battery to 2,550 mAh (the company's Galaxy S5 features a 2,800 mAh battery).

The HTC One M9 possesses a 2,840 mAh one while the Moto X will provide the least amount of usage thanks to its 2,300 mAh battery. The Galaxy S6 possesses a 1440p resolution compared to the One M9 and Moto X's 1080p resolution. From a realistic approach, rendering a 1440p resolution takes an enormous amount of toll on the battery life, something that HTC and Motorola were already aware of.

In terms of Wi-Fi connectivity, all three devices possess the 802.11 ac wireless adapter and while the Moto X might possess an LTE connectivity modem, the One M9 and Galaxy S6 will blaze past Motorola's offering with their Category 6 LTE modem, which can provide maximum download speeds of 300 Mbps. In terms of camera performance and quality, HTC's flagship device wins the race with a 20.7 MP rear snapper, followed by the Galaxy S6's 16 MP shooter and finally, the Moto X's 13 MP camera.
