"Mortal Kombat X," the upcoming fighting game to be released in 2015, is not yet done revealing characters that will complete its roster. Last week, Ermac was confirmed to be the 14th playable character to be included in the title. Now there is rumor that a departed singer belonging to the band GWAR might be included in the "Mortal Kombat X" playable character lineup.

In order to make this possible, metal fans are currently petitioning to turn Dave Brockie into a "Mortal Kombat X" character. The petition has garnered 3,700 signatures so far, but the target that has to be achieved is 5,000 signatures. Information posted on the petition page is as follows:

"People who are familiar with GWAR know Oderus Urungus, (played by Dave Brockie) the former singer of the band, unfortunately passed away last March. Oderus was as hilarious as he was viscous, and also one of the most colorful and creative characters not only in rock history, but also history in general. Though his music will live on, what better way would there be to further immortalize (toasty) Oderus Urungus then to have him be a playable character on Mortal Kombat X."

If Oderus Urungus does manage to become a playable character in the title, then his addition will make it a grand total of 15 characters. The current 14 characters that make up "Mortal Kombat X" are:

  1. Scorpion
  2. Sub-Zero
  3. Cassie Cage
  4. D'Vorah
  5. Kotal Kahn
  6. Ferra & Torr
  7. Raiden
  8. Kano
  9. Reptile
  10. Kitana
  11. Kung Lao
  12. Quan Chi
  13. Goro
  14. Ermac

"Mortal Kombat X" is expected to include new forms of "Fatalities" along with the special "X-Ray" move. It is rumored that the title will feature online functionality. The game will be released on April 14.
