"Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance," the 2013 hack and slash game that was developed by Platinum Games, might be getting a sequel.

During the 2015 Taipei Game Show, a list of games for the PlayStation 4 console was showcased, ranging from "Batman: Arkham City," "Bloodborne," "The Order: 1886" as well as "Until Dawn." Even with the slew of titles, sharp-eyed observers caught a glimpse of the "Metal Gear Rising" logo in the form of the number 2, which was displayed only for a split second. The list of games is shown on Twitch stream, and the moment on the timer that the logo appears is 2:46:33, after which "Batman: Arkham Knight" is shown.

Even though "Metal Gear" creator Hideo Kojima was present at the show, he made no announcement regarding the "Metal Gear" series, perhaps to tease the fans a bit more.

However, if users are able to go through his Twitter account history, Kojima has been in constant contact with the developer responsible for making "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance." The last meeting that took place between him and a representative of the developing team was on Dec. 14, where Kojima was meeting Platinum President and CEO Tatsuya Minami

The developer was also responsible for creating "Bayonetta 2" and although the following has not been confirmed, the fate of "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's" sequel just might be revealed later in the year, assuming there is one.

The title was launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles before getting launched for the PC and Mac platforms in January 2014. The game features Raiden, an augmented cybernetic ninja armed with an HF (high frequency) blade capable of dismembering enemies with ease, thanks to the flow of current surrounding the entire blade. Raiden is also the primary protagonist in "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty."

Meanwhile, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" will be launched for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles this year. The title will also be ported to the PC platform but Kojima has not yet specified a release date.
