"Marvel Mighty Heroes" has been announced by developer DeNA and is going to be released for the iOS and Android platforms later this year. As the name suggests, the mobile gaming title will feature a real time "co-op brawler" that will allow iOS and Android device owners to choose from a wide range of Marvel's roster of heroes and villains in order to build the perfect team of fighters.

In order to prevent superflous gameplay, each hero and villain will possess their own repertoire of skillset and special abilities, allowing mobile gamers to experiment between each one of them and choose the perfect fighters for their teams. Playable characters that will be present in the game are as follows:

  • Captain America
  • Iron Man
  • Black Widow
  • Spider-Man
  • Star-Lord
  • Groot
  • Thor
  • Hulk

"Marvel Mighty Heroes" will also be featuring a four-player multiplayer mode and online leaderboards functionality, allowing players to pit themselves against their friends as well as keep track of their progress across the globe. The upcoming title currently does not possess an official release date, but it will be a 'free to play' title on Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store.

Gamers who are interested in experiencing the mobile version of Marvel's heroes and villains can also visit the newly launched website in order to vote for either the Hulk or Rocket Raccoon to receive as a free special hero at launch. While the developer has not stated this, it is possible that the gaming title's character list will expand as new ones enter the Marvel cinematic universe. The title will most likely feature 'in app' purchases.

However, whether players will be able to use the in-game currency to unlock additional perks or be required to use their credit/debit cards has not yet been detailed by the developer.
