Leeds minister to run Chicago Marathon for Methodist housing agency

A Leeds minister is raising funds for Methodist housing agency MHA by running in the Chicago Marathon and the Great North Run.

Rev Robin Fox's efforts at the two major runs will double as a celebration of his 10th year of marathon running.

Rev Fox's first ever marathon was in the 1998 Chicago Marathon. He has since run in Stockholm, London and Belfast.

He hopes that 10 years on, he can beat his previous time of 4 hours and 34 minutes when he joins this year's Chicago Marathon on 12 October.

"Being 10 years older and 10 minutes faster will suit me very nicely!" he said.
MHA provides care homes, housing and support services for older people across the UK irrespective of personal beliefs, with particular recognition in dementia care. MHA celebrates it's 65th anniversary this year.
