Jim Bob Duggar, the "19 Kids and Counting" patriarch, has tried to raise his 19 kids to become good Christian children. There are a lot of strict rules he implemented on his household, but he recently shared on the Duggar Family Blog one parenting advice that has helped shape his kids' lives.

"Be careful what you praise your children for doing, because they'll do a lot of it," the former TLC reality star says.

His parenting advice drew in mixed reactions. "Wow. I agree with this statement. You always want to praise your children and very often. However, given what the world now knows about his eldest son, I would think Jim Bob wouldn't want to be giving so much public [advice]. I'm sure the trolls will have a field day with that one," a concerned fan writes.

Another commenter notes, "I'm guessing that what he is saying [is] that praising our children is fine, but you don't want to cause a spirit of pride to develop in them. This could cause them to have wrong motives for doing the right thing."

There were some who disagreed with Jim Bob's beliefs. "I do NOT agree with Jim Bob's 'ism' about watching what you praise your child for doing. If it is something positive (which should be the only things that should be praised), then praising your child would be a great thing and having them do it over and over again would be good," a fan writes.

Meanwhile, Jim Bob's wife Michelle earlier gave out an advice about marriage intimacy that also drew in a lot of colourful reactions.

Michelle said wives must always be readily available for their husbands, no matter how tired they feel. "So don't forget that, that he needs you," she said. "So when you are exhausted at the end of the day, maybe from dealing with little ones, and you fall into bed so exhausted at night, don't forget about him because you and he are the only ones who can have that time together. No one else in the world can meet that need."

A woman slammed Michelle as a "Stepford extremist," saying, "I feel sorry for any and all girls raised in the Duggar household!!! They have NO chance of being a real woman!! They are slaves for the rest of their lives."
