While Apple's processors are compatible with the 64 bit architecture, the operating system itself is not. iOS 9 is expected to be compatible with 64 bit processors, which will result in improved performance across the device. With 64 bit optimizations, the entire operating system and its respective applications can become fluid to the point where the user's experience will not be dismantled.
