GoPro Hero 5 release date, specs, and features roundup

The American corporation that develops and manufactures durable action cameras is going to raise the bar when it comes to the performance of its upcoming flagship camera, the GoPro Hero 5. It is expected that the device will be released during the end of 2015 and will feature a number of improvements and upgrades over its predecessor, the GoPro Hero 4.

Starting off, Franchise Herald has stated that the Hero 5 could allow users to record videos at the 4K resolution at an astounding frame rate of 60 FPS. In addition, it has been rumored that the Hero 5 could also take the maximum video recording resolution up to 8K. The Hero 5 is said to be packing a more advanced Bluetooth 4.0 module, which will aid in transferring large capacity content to other devices remotely, at a much quicker pace.

When the company launched its Hero 4 lineup of action cameras, both devices came in two color variants, a silver and a black one. However, apart from the different color scheme, another difference separating both Hero 4 action cameras was the video recording performance. The black colored Hero 4 could record 4K videos at a resolution of 30 FPS while the silver one could only peak out at 15 FPS at the same resolution. With the release of the Hero 5, it is expected that the video recording performance disparity will be a thing of the past since all color schemes of the upcoming action cameras will be able to record at the same frame rate.

Currently, the flagship model of GoPro's action camera carries a price tag of $499.99 (GoPro Hero 4 Black) so the company will be looking to stamp the same price tag on to the Hero 5, while incorporating improved features to it.
