The Game Developer's Conference will take place March 2-5, 2015. The GDC 2015 will be held in San Francisco, at the Moscone Center and there are several things that will be showcased at the conference. The highlights of the event will most definitely be Microsoft's 'unified interface' operating system, Windows 10, and how it will be beneficial for PC and console gamers in the foreseeable future.

The company's DirectX 12 API will have a huge role to play in determining the outcome of future gaming titles, since a brief demonstration was given of the API on how it stacks up against its predecessor versions. When pitted against DirectX 11, DirectX 12 was able to deliver a 70 percent increase in performance using the same hardware, but with different APIs installed. The product being used to demonstrate this performance was Microsoft's Surface Pro 3, which possesses a mediocre performing Intel HD 4400 graphics processor.

In addition, the tech giant will also be talking about its HoloLens and how it will redefine the future of the user interface. Apart from Microsoft, Sony will also be present at the conference in order to discuss about the future optimizations of its next generation console, the PS4 and how future game developers will be able to benefit from this increase in performance. It is also possible that the company will unveil its Virtual Reality gaming headset, which is being referred to as Project Morpheus.

AMD's executives will also be present at the conference in order to demonstrate the latest TressFx engine that will be used to improve visual experience in the games. The first game to ever use the aforementioned technology was the 2013 action survivor reboot of the "Tomb Raider" franchise. Once enabled, the tech was able to provide life like hair particles that is almost a realistic as to what viewers see in everyday life.

Unfortunately, the tech was too taxing on graphic cards and made the game unplayable in several situations. AMD will most likely be showing off its updated tech that will be less intensive on GPUs, and provide additional augmentation to different variables present in future games, such as water, landscape and clothes.
