Samsung finally learned the mistakes it had made with the release of the Galaxy S5 and on Mar. 1, 2015, the South Korean phone giant attempted to rectify its past failures with the release of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge.

Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge possess a 5.1 inch screen size that renders the resolution of 1440p. Unlike the Galaxy S5, which features a 1080p display and a plastic exterior, Samsung's latest smartphone chassis comprises of an 'all metal body,' and a dense resolution.

Additionally, Samsung's Galaxy S5 features the Snapdragon 801 chipset whereas the company's newly released prize is running its home grown Exynos 7420 'system on a chip,' which is running an octa-core CPU that is divided in to one quad-core processor clocked in at 2.1 GHz and another quad-core chip possessing a base clock speed 1.5 GHz.

The flagship chipset of the company also possesses 3 GB of RAM, whereas the Galaxy S5 only featured 2 GB of RAM and a quad-core processor. However, one feature where the Galaxy S5 is able to place itself above its successor is the expandable storage and battery pack department. It has yet to be determined what Samsung's engineers were contemplating, but the Galaxy S6 is void of a microSD slot and is currently sold in the 32, 64 and 128 GB internal capacity variants. Furthermore, the smartphone also possesses a smaller battery; 2,550 mAh compared to the 2,800 mAh present on the company's previous flagship model.

However, the Galaxy S6 possesses a better rear camera (16 megapixels) and unlike its predecessor, the current flagship also possesses an OIS chip to minimize the blurry and hazy effects of images due to fast moving objects and unstable hand movement while gripping the smartphone. That is not all where Samsung has made improvements to its smartphone. It has also toned down the resource consuming attribute of its TouchWiz user interface and has presented more useful features in it rather than stuffing pre-installed applications.

The Galaxy S6 will be running Google's Lollipop 5.0 update 'out of the box' and is set to be globally released on April 10, 2015. Consumers can currently place a pre-order for the smartphone.
