'Final Fantasy 15' release date news: Episode Duscae demo out this week

Final Fantasy 14 patch 2.45 release on Dec. 9. Square Enix

"Final Fantasy" fans can finally rejoice once again as they will be able to enjoy not one, but two gaming titles belonging to the action role playing franchise. The first game is going to be titled "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD," and will also feature the first playable demo of "Final Fantasy 15." "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" will be released for the Xbox One and PS4 on March 17, 2015 in North America, March 19, 2015 in Japan and March 20, 2015 in Europe. In every copy of the game, console gamers will be able to experience the demo titled "Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae."

According to Polygon, the playable content will include scenes and elements from the opening sections of "Final Fantasy 15," but in order to deliver a unique gaming experience, some of these elements have been altered. IGN states that according to the director of "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD," Hajime Tabata, the reasoning behind the unorthodox title is as follows:

"We incorporated the meaning of starting anew, from zero, in the title Type-0. It was an expression of determination towards a series of its own, one that is both like and unlike Final Fantasy. The notion of it being an independent title [...] came about when I saw the results of pre-production. Seeing the action-based combat, the mature style with its raw depiction of life, and the unique multiplayer taking form."

"Final Fantasy Type-0 HD" will feature 14 playable characters, allowing gamers to allocate a great deal of time to each player in order to experience a different level of immersion with every one of them. "Final Fantasy 15's" director, Tetsuya Nomura has currently not given an official release date for the upcoming title but it is expected that the game will be released in Q4 2015.
