Christian killed by extremists in Somalia

A young Christian man was reportedly shot dead by extremists in Somalia earlier this month.

According to Morning Star News, 28-year-old Hassan Hurshe was killed by the Al Shabaab extremist group after being identified as a Christian.

He was reportedly brought by the group to a public place in the town of Jilib on 7 June and shot in the head.

A witness said his killing had been carried out in front of members of the public, including women and children.

Somalis are considered Muslim by birth and apostasy is punishable by death.

Another source told Morning Star News that Hurshe's wife and son have fled the area.
