"Gotham" season 2 will see a surplus of new villains and heroes but not all of the new characters will be donning costumes and joining the mob. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, actress Natalie Alyn Lind has been cast to portray Silver St. Cloud, a new love interest for Bruce Wayne, played by David Mazouz.

According to the report, Silver is also an orphan so she does have something in common with young Bruce Wayne, but where the latter is eventually going to take up a career in fighting crime as the Batman, Silver is described as having a heart that beats with "dark intent."

The introduction of Silver could complicate Bruce's relationship with young Selina Kyle, played by Camren Bicondova. Season 1 saw a budding relationship between Bruce and Selina, and fans of the comics know that she will eventually become his most popular love interest. Selina and Bruce even end up together as a couple in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises."

Silver will also introduce her uncle Theo Galavan, played by James Frain. Theo is described as a billionaire philanthropist and may become the father figure that Bruce will look up to. However, as pointed out in a report from Cinema Blend, Theo is not as benevolent as he seems. He will be working side by side with his sister Tabitha aka the Tigress, played by Jessica Lucas, and the two are described as new villains hell-bent on driving the city of Gotham into chaos.

Silver is also a very intelligent character from the comic books and, like the villain Bane, she is able to deduce the Batman's true identity entirely on her own. Her wits will play a part in her origin story and with her "dark intent," she may end up as one of season 2's biggest villains with regard to Bruce Wayne's story as Jim Gordon has his own problems to deal with.
