Xiaomi, one of China's leading phone manufacturers, is reportedly arriving to U.S. markets based on a listing from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

On Oct. 21, Wall Street Journal reported that Chinese phone manufacturer Xiaomi may consider releasing their phones in the United States.

Now, a new unofficial device dubbed as Xiaomi Redmi 2 has been awarded an FCC certificate, making it the first Xiaomi phone to be launched in the United States, Liliputing reported.

According to the account from Wall Street Journal (via GizChina), there was a hint from the company that the phones that could be introduced to the U.S. market are the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro.

This only suggests that the FCC certificate for Redmi 2 Pro was a surprise.

Redmi 2 Pro is reported to carry a Snapdragon 410 chipset and will have a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720p display, as seen in the official documents from the FCC.

The device has 2 GB RAM and a 16 GB storage capacity. It features 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Bluetooth 4.0. A 2,200 mAh battery should power up the device.

There was no mention about the Redmi 2 Pro's price but according to GSM Arena, the device carries the same specs as Redmi 2 Prime, which costs $110. This suggests that Redmi 2 Pro will also carry the same price tag.

When it comes to bands compatibility, Redmi 2 Pro is listed to work well with GSM bands 850 and 1900 and LTE Bands 2, 4, and 7, which makes it technically compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile, Liliputing's report stated.

In recent years, Xiaomi has made a big name in China and upon entering Indian markets, the Chinese smartphone player was received very well.

Now with the reports pointing to a U.S. introduction, it remains to be seen how well people will receive the China-manufactured device.

Still, getting a clearance from the FCC doesn't automatically mean that the device will be on sale in the country. Xiaomi has yet to issue an official confirmation about the device and its release in the United States.
