Gamers will soon be able to enjoy PlayStation Now's game streaming services without the use of the gaming console, thanks to some Samsung Smart TV models that will be released in 2015. 

The news was confirmed by the South Korean tech and consumer giant this week, saying, "PlayStation Now on Samsung Smart TVs will support all functionality of the service, including the ability to earn in-game trophies, play games online with friends, and save your game progress in the cloud." 

This means that those who are planning to buy the upcoming smart television sets from Samsung do not have to buy a separate console to be able to play the games for Sony PlayStation. 

Sony Computer Entertainment's Executive Vice President Masayasu Ito also talked about Sony and Samsung's collaboration for this new entertainment system project, saying that "partnering with Samsung is a key step toward realizing this vision, as we can reach a broader audience of consumers who may not own a PlayStation console to show them why gaming with PlayStation is such a unique and amazing experience." 

According to the latest reports, the first video and live demonstrations of the PlayStation Now that works on some of the soon-to-be released Samsung Smart TVs will be held at the upcoming CES 2015 in Las Vegas, which is scheduled from Jan. 6 to Jan. 9.

Initially, the services will only be offered to those who will buy their Samsung TVs in the U.S. and Canada. To avail of these offers, buyers are required to purchase their own Sony DualShock wireless controller to be able to play the streaming games. 

There are no reports when the services will be offered in other parts of the world, and there is still no information about the price range of the TVs as well as the models that will offer the PlayStation Now streaming services. Details are expected to be revealed during the launching event.
