Latest rumors claim that the next smartphone by Apple, the iPhone 7, will pack a Sapphire screen display to be manufactured by the company's loyal partner, Foxconn.

Right now, all news are stemming from the grapevine, with latest speculations circulating around the possible features of the future handset. After the iPhone 6 skipped the Sapphire screen display, rumors started to surface that its successor would pack the sturdier screen instead. There are also whispers that the next iPhone will be transparent. iPhone7info stated that the Cupertino-based company filed a patent for a "transparent phone" concept.

Along with speculations about the Sapphire screen, rumors also state that Apple will be getting their orders from its known partner and supplier, Foxconn. The Chinese supplier seems to want to bag more contracts with its main partner, Apple. Rumors say that the contract involves manufacturing displays for high end smartphones.

According to Wall Street Journal, Foxconn and the Zhengzhou government are currently in talks how to split up the investment that involves building a factory that would manufacture displays. The report continued that there is no solid investment proposal from the company yet, but if Foxconn will be able to bag the project, it will be the largest investment in China to date.

A lot of consumers were disappointed when it was revealed that the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus do not have Sapphire screen displays. But the use of Sapphire screens is nothing new to Apple since two of three Apple Watch models sport the said feature. The display of the smartwatch was manufactured by GT Advanced Technology, but the said company filed for bankruptcy earlier this month.

There is no concrete plan yet for iPhone 7 since the company just released the iPhone 6 models as well as the new generation of iPad, Mac Mini, and iMac. The company is probably more worried about the sales and supply of the aforementioned devices.

Some predict that the iPhone 7 will be released in 2016. However, the tech giant has not confirmed the rumors circulating about the device.
