AMC's "Into the Badlands" recently concluded its first season with only six episodes. The cliffhanger season finale left so many unanswered questions and fans are wondering what's next for the show.

Although the show has yet to be officially renewed by the network, showrunner Al Gough told Comic Book that the network was "obviously happy" about the series, suggesting that the show might see another season.

The finale episode featured Sunny (Daniel Wu) vowing he no longer wants to be a Clipper in the badlands. But according to the International Business Times, India, it's possible that Sunny would venture back to his dark side, as he was imprisoned and Veil (Madeleine Mantock), his secret lover, was kidnapped.

Sunny will be on a rescue mission despite him being detained, as revealed by Gough. He said that the Clipper's goal is to get Veil back and search for M.K. (Aramis Knight).

It's likely that Sunny will have to break his vow never to kill again since it will be hard to survive in the Badlands.

Apart from Sunny's upcoming adventure, Gough also teased that fans of the show will get to meet more Barons and abbots. They will also be taken to different parts of the Badlands.

Season 2 will finally explain why the show is called "Into the Badlands." Gough shared that "when you're not a regent, when you don't have Clippers, even though you're Sunny and you clearly have proven time and time again you can take out a lot of people, there's a lot of threats that will be coming at you."

An official announcement of the renewal for "Into the Badlands" has yet to be announced, but Gough wants to tell fans that their support for the show is much appreciated.

Gough also said that fans should "have faith that there'll be a season two."
